Joining Merchant navy after completing CCMC Course.
CCMC implies Certificate Course in Maritime Catering Endorsed (approved) by the Directorate General of Shipping (Government of India).This course was earlier called Saloon Rating but this course was later renamed as Certificate Course in Maritime Catering (CCMC). On effective success of this CCMC course, the competitors will be qualified to participate in Indian/Foreign Shipping Company as a GS. Course initiates Every year in January and July.
CCMC course is a 6 months Residential Pre-sea training course.This course is cooking related.In the wake of finishing Pre-sea training (CCMC ), outside assessments are led by Board of Examination of Seafarers (BES) under D.G Shipping (Govt of India) and effective up-and-comers are given an Indian CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate) which empowers one to work with Indian and International shipping companies as General Steward ( GS ) , 2nd cook, and so on.
In merchant ships 3 department are there Deck department, Engine department and Catering .GS under catering department and. The highest post of this department Chief Cook / Chief Steward also head of department Chief Cook / Chief Steward.
There is no Common Entrance Test for CCMC Yet, a few Colleges direct their own passage test to choose the competitors.passage test to choose the competitors.
Eligibility Criteria
- 01. 10th Standard pass from government recognized board with subjects English, Mathematics and Science with 40% total. English 40% in 10th or 12th.
OR
- 02. 12th Standard pass from government recognized board with 40% total. English 40% at 12th or 12th however with subjects English, Mathematics and Science at 10th .
OR
- 03. Pass in 2 year ITI course approved ( supported ) by DVET; with least 40% total marks in conclusive (final) year of ITI and at least 40% total in conclusive (final) year of ITI and at least 40% in English in 10th or 12th.
This Eligibility Criteria also same for admission GP.
Age: age at least age l7 years and 6 months and most extreme age 25 years on the date of commencement of course.
Medical: According to M.S (Medical Examination for sailors) Rules 2000 as corrected from time to time.
- Five years age relaxation For SC/ST applicants
Educational Qualification
Pass the exam 10 or comparable from any recognized Board, state or Central Board and NIOS, New Delhi, any stream with at least 40% marks in total and 40% in English
Age Limit: At least 17 years a 6 months and not over 25 years at the hour of beginning of the Course. up to 27 years for Graduate in only.
Duration: 6 months
